April 12 of 12!!!! YEA!!!!

Another 12 of 12!! Here's the link to the instructions of this photo blog devised by Chad Darnell and the links to everyone's 12 of 12 links: http://chaddarnell.typepad.com/runchadrun2/12_of_12/index.html

ICK. What a dismal day. Rain, rain, go away! When it's gloomy in NYC, it's GLOOMY. It feels like one of those days where you just want to stay in bed forever.

Worf agrees 100%. How bleary-eyed can you get!

But I was industrious. I have one of my friends from my old home in Pennsylvania coming to stay with me this weekend, so I cleaned my kitchen - it is gorgeously spic and span!

Showered, quaffed and ready to go meet with my acting teacher, Penny Templeton. We're working on her book of her techniques and today we're discussing rehearsal techniques for both class guidelines and the book.

These posters are for informing authorities of any suspicious activities you may see when in the city - they're posted all over the subways and the byline is "Say Something". This one on the 3 train was adorned with this sticker that reads "An attorney general abandons the rule of law to defend torture, spying and the abuse of power by a President of the United States. Say Something." Okay - I'm saying something in one word. IMPEACH.

Me and Penny in her studio after our work is done. We have a lot of fun together and I am SO thankful I was led to her. I have learned so much in the past year, it's incredible and it really shows in my work.

OK, so for all you "Battlestar Galactica" fans - you've seen this mandala on the show. The School of Visual Arts is using Kara "Starbuck" Thrace's visionary mandala that she has painted and drawn since childhood as one of their poster ads in the NYC subway system. I think it's AWESOME - what a great tribute to the best show on television. And if you haven't seen BSG and think it's just some lame sci fi fantasy show, you are DEAD WRONG. It's the most compelling drama on tv. Who cares if it's set in space. Seriously. It could be set on an aircraft carrier at sea or in a submarine. It doesn't matter - the space part is just background. The story between the characters is what is absolutely riveting.

This is Dave, one of the attorneys I work with, and in his own words regarding this picture "I look like a douchebag." I don't think it's the most flattering of pictures, but Dave is definitely not a douchebag. He's a very funny and amusing guy to work with.

This is a lucky bamboo plant that was gifted to me by another secretary who didn't want to care for it any longer as it's suffering a bit. Part of the plant is very healthy and the other is losing color and getting brown tips on the leaves. I talk to it every night and may bring it home. Poor thing just might want some REAL sunlight instead of a steady diet of flourescent light.

Out to dinner with Rene, an attorney I used to work with who is now on the other side of my floor. And yes, I'm drinking a frothy drink (shhhhhhh........). He's a great guy and we are buds.

Worf, not too pleased with me. I brought my friend from PA, Tonya, back with me and he's p.o.-ed. He likes to keep his domain simple - me and him - and when I bring people into the apartment, he gets pissy. Bummer, kitty.

Me and Tonya. We haven't seen each other in over 2 years. She took a 6 hour bus ride to the city to attend the Omega Institute conference and is staying with me through Sunday. We're going to try to sneak in to see Al Gore speak Friday night. YES!

BONUS PIC - my random word was "TACTIC" and eye drops and a mirror were my tactic in trying to get a piece of something out of my right eye. Didn't work too well. I had to go flush my eye several times with water. Still have no idea what had been in there, but it's out today. My eye is still a little sore though. OUCH!
Well, until next month!!! Maybe the NYC posters can all meet up to say hello and take a group photo - May 12th is on a Saturday.
