May 2008 12 of 12

Happy May 12 of 12! This was a "traveling gal" kind of 12 for me. I was visiting my parents in southern New Jersey for Mother's Day and had to get back to NYC to go to work....zzzzzz.....a necessary evil, right?

I had an audition on Saturday for a play in Princeton, NJ and my mom suggested she come pick me up as I was already half way to their house. I'm glad she did. The last time they saw me, I had just had an invasive test at the hospital and wasn't much fun.

Mom and I talked late into the night Sunday and this is me around 1:45 am ready to pass out. Plus, Mom let me borrow her nifty camera, so my shots are much better this time out.

Well, maybe not that one.....

I got up around 9 am to a breakfast of fresh strawberries. These are the first of the California strawberries I've seen and man, were they sweet and tasty!

The three of us squeezed in for a group shot.

Riding in the car from NJ to Philadelphia so I could catch my bus. There is a Christmas tree farm that is DOA - it's going to be ripped out to create a new town. A new Main Street and stores and offices. This development is rampant where my parents live. McMansions in every former orchard. It's sad but the Garden State will be the Concrete State pretty soon.

Rollin' down the highway....what a miserable day. Cold (50 degrees!!!), high winds, heavy rains at times.....ICK

Going over the Benjamin Franklin Bridge into Center City, Philadelphia. This is my favorite bridge. It's blue and when it's lit up at night, it's really pretty. I don't know where the blue sky came in above the bridge - I don't remember it being there because the rain was coming down pretty hard.

The lovely Philadelphia bus terminal. All the little silver stands marching in little rows. Go Greyhound! My bus broke right at the gate and we had to wait an hour for a replacement bus, so I was very late getting into NYC and had to go straight to work instead of going home to change.

Sitting on the bus for an hour. I thank Steve Jobs for inventing the iPod. Just miserable outside.

Finally leaving Philly. This is a long shot of the Constitutional Center where Obama gave his wonderful speech on race.

Here I am at work, hoping that my pants, which are trouser jeans, will pass as trousers as I don't have work pants with me in my suitcase. Well, they did because I'm still here and it's 11:30 pm.

I had to kill an hour before my shift, so I worked on a script for an audition tomorrow, drank some latte and snacked.

Before heading to my desk, I snapped a pic of the Hudson River, Central Park and George Washington Bridget (which is hard to make out in the distance because of the gloom). This is a really nice view on a sunny day.

Well, that's my 12 for this month. I'm going to New Mexico and wished that the 12 would fall on that trip, but it doesn't. It'll probably fall on my jury duty day.....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
