August 12 of 12, 2007

This is the August edition of 12 of 12, Chad Darnell's nifty monthly photo blog shared by people all over the globe. Finally a 12 on the weekend - and then it turns out to be about as dull as any weekday.

My August 12th started at midnight on the couch recovering from a two-day migraine. Worf had a traumatic trip to the vet, so both of us were exhausted, but that doesn't stop him from looking incredibly cute as usual.

I woke up to the toilet clogging. Not pretty. I didn't want to show that, but you get the drift.

Breakfast - leftover veggie dumplings with sraracha sauce. YUM!

Out on errands - up to the CVS.

I volunteered to sponsor a soldier through TroopCarePackage.com. He is in Iraq and I'm sending him some goodies he requested. Regardless of my feelings against the war, it's not this guy's fault. He's still doing his job and putting his life on the line and I'll do what I can to make his life slightly more pleasant.

I also am sending some small things for kids in Kosovo through a U.S. servicewoman there who let TroopCarePackage know that the kids have NOTHING and are excited just to receive pens and pencils. I see all the ads on tv for "back to school" and how gluttonous they are and it makes me wonder what the hell is wrong with priorities.

My Buddha head candle holder. He's so peaceful.

Okay, cannot procrastinate any longer - cleaning time! Unfortunately I didn't have Blondie playing in the background as I swiffered.

But I finished hanging my window decorations and this became my bonus picture - LIGHT.

I had to watch the amazing Mr. Woods win the PGA. He was so in the zone - inspirational!

After cleaning my living room, I decided to continue tackling some art I've been making about my Shadow.

Then I started a mandala journal. Kind of a visual daily/weekly journal that is just a sketch of what comes out for the day.

Worf had to come and taste my fingers as I drank my nightly hot chocolate.

And that's it! I'm actually posting this before the day ends. Watching Bill Maher on HBO, laughing my ass off!
